Jakarta, Feb. 4 -- Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono has highlighted the importance of discussing the future of adaptive UN peacekeeping missions to face rapidly evolving situations on the ground.
Indonesia, which has been contributing to UN missions since 1957, currently ranks as the fifth-largest troop-sending country for the UN Peacekeeping Mission, with 2,753 troops spread across eight missions, he informed.
"A commitment that I believe will continue in the years to come, in line with our Constitution and the government's strategic vision," he said during the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Meeting at the TNI Peacekeeping Mission Center, Sentul, on Tuesday.
