Tangerang, Feb. 13 -- The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) plans to intensify maritime security operations in the northern coastal waters of Tangerang District, Banten, once the removal of a 30.16-kilometer illegal sea fence controversially erected in the region is complete.

Speaking in Tangerang on Thursday, Commander of Marine Troops I Brigadier Gen. Hermanto emphasized that this security plan reflects the military's commitment to preventing the installation of such an illegal and economically harmful structure in Indonesia's waters in the future.

"Our objective is certainly to enable fishermen to navigate the waters and catch fish conveniently," he remarked.
