Jakarta, Dec. 25 -- The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has placed its warships on full alert to anticipate sea transport contingencies during the Christmas and New Year holidays, ensuring the safety, security, and smooth functioning of maritime transportation activities.
Operations Assistant to the Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral Yayan Sofiyan emphasized that this readiness was implemented under Admiral Muhammad Ali's directive to support sea transport during the year-end holidays.
"Our warships are standing by on call at ports where weather conditions potentially lead to maritime accidents," Sofiyan stated during a press conference following a coordination meeting at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, on Thursday.
