Jakarta, Jan. 26 -- Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Muhammad Ali, confirmed that 23 Marines were among the victims of the landslide that occurred in Cisarua, West Bandung, West Java.

"There are 23 Marines buried in the landslide. Currently, only four have been found dead, and the others are still missing," he spoke to the media at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, those Marines were stationed at the location to conduct training in preparation for securing the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

During the training, the location coincidentally experienced two days of rain.
