Jakarta, Sept. 4 -- House Speaker Puan Maharani has called on all leaders of political factions in the House of Representatives (DPR) to discuss institutional transformation in response to public demands voiced during nationwide protests last week.

In her official statement received here on Thursday, Puan Maharani said that all faction leaders have agreed to remove housing incentives for members and suspend overseas trips for both members and commissions.

She emphasized the parliament's openness to criticism and evaluation, reaffirming its commitment to improving the institution in line with the people's aspirations.
