Jakarta, Feb. 7 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has said that the National ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) Movement, initiated under a directive from President Prabowo Subianto, also aims to strengthen marine waste management.

In a statement confirmed on Saturday, Nurofiq said Indonesia's waste problem has entered a critical phase. Of the approximately 143,000 tons of waste generated daily nationwide, only about 24 percent is properly managed.
