Ternate, N Maluku, March 27 -- The North Maluku administration has inaugurated sea transportation operations at the newly renovated Sofifi Port to bolster connectivity within the archipelago and lay the groundwork for the port's development as a key container port.

"As an archipelago, North Maluku relies heavily on sea transportation. We are pleased to see Sofifi Port operational again with the arrival of Motor Vessel Mutiara Ferindo III ," North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda said in Ternate on Thursday.
