Jakarta, June 30 -- The Ministry of Environment has said that it will slap sanctions on hotels, restaurants, and cafes that fail to manage waste, especially in North Jakarta, which is meant to be a national model for waste management.
During a visit to an industrial park in Bekasi, West Java, on Monday, Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said that his ministry carried out monitoring in North Jakarta on Saturday (June 28, 2025) and checked the progress of waste management practices.
"Those who do not manage waste will be immediately given administrative sanctions, including all tenants, hotels, restaurants, and cafes in North Jakarta. This is aimed at reducing their waste contribution," the minister informed.
