Jakarta, Oct. 19 -- The Muhammadiyah Emergency Medical Team (EMT) has officially received verification from the World Health Organization (WHO), becoming Indonesia's first internationally certified emergency medical team and the 16th worldwide.

Muhammadiyah - one of Indonesia's largest Islamic organizations - obtained the verification after a long and comprehensive process that began in 2017.

WHO EMT Secretariat Roy Anthony Cosico personally handed over the Confirmation Letter for EMT Global Classification to the Muhammadiyah EMT at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital in Yogyakarta on Sunday.
