Indonesia, July 7 -- The El Tari Kupang Airport Management announced that four flights from Kupang and Flores Island were canceled due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday.

"Four flights were forced to be canceled by the airline due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi," I Gusti Ngurah Yudi Saputra, the acting head of the Legal, Compliance, & Stakeholder Relations Department of El Tari Kupang Airport, stated on Monday.

On Monday, Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted, sending a volcanic ash column up to 18 thousand meters above the mountain's peak.

The four canceled flights included the El Tari Kupang Airport-Frans Seda Maumere Airport route and its return flight.
