Jakarta, March 21 -- Head of East Flores District Antonius Doni Dihen applauded the Indonesian central government for effectively handling the impacts of the spates of eruptions of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

"We can truly feel the central government's care," he remarked after attending a ministerial meeting on the volcanic disaster chaired by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno in Jakarta on Friday.

Dihen noted that during the closed-door meeting, the central government assured his administration of its commitment to accelerating rehabilitation measures and assisting affected residents currently taking shelter in temporary housing sites.
