Jakarta, May 11 -- Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Lestari Moerdijat, stated that improving the quality of teachers is a crucial step in enhancing the national education system to produce a future generation that is competitive and capable.

"Programs that enhance access to quality teacher development must be implemented consistently to provide better educational services," Moerdijat stated in a written message received here on Sunday.
