Jakarta, Feb. 15 -- Deputy Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Eddy Soeparno praised President Prabowo Subianto's decision to maintain the budget for the Smart Indonesia Card for Higher Education (KIP Kuliah) program.

During the MPR Goes to Campus Roadshow event at Semarang State University here on Friday (February 14th), he remarked that several students voiced concerns about how budget efficiency might impact the KIP Kuliah.

"The finance minister and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco have confirmed that the budget for the KIP Kuliah program will not be affected by the budget efficiency policy," Soeparno told the students, as stated in the MPR press release received here Saturday.
