Jakarta, Dec. 9 -- The Ministry of Trade announced that a Mojokerto-based business in East Java has made its first molasses export to Australia, worth US$10,000 or around Rp166.5 million.
The ministry's Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the first molasses export to Australia is a good indicator for future export-focused villages and will spur more villages to create globally competitive products.
"CV Mitra Tata Usaha's ability to seize market opportunities demonstrates the quality of Indonesian products competing in the international market. We hope this step will pave the way for strengthening and diversifying Indonesian exports to Australia," she noted in a statement on Tuesday.
