Jakarta, July 31 -- The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national efforts to check the rise in digital crimes such as online fraud and scams.

"Eradicating scams is now a national priority and an integral part of the strategy to build a safe, clean, and trustworthy digital space," the ministry's director general of digital space supervision, Alexander Sabar, said at the launch of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), Indonesia Chapter, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He informed that public losses due to scams crossed Rp700 billion (US$41 million) between November 2024 and February 2025.
