Indonesia, Oct. 21 -- The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has called on regional governments across Papua to actively support efforts to preserve local languages and prevent their extinction.
Head of Language and Literature Facilitation and Advocacy at the ministry, Adu Budiwiyanto, highlighted the importance of regional government involvement through local language mapping and revitalization programs.
"We hope regional governments will continue to support local language revitalization efforts, in order to reach more students, schools, and communities," Budiwiyanto said here on Tuesday.
