Jakarta, July 25 -- The Ministry of Forestry is devising an investment policy and institutional road map to mobilize public and private sector funding for mangrove rehabilitation as an alternative financing strategy to address state budget (APBN) constraints.
"The government has a large target for mangrove rehabilitation. Through this institutional investment map, we will offer plots totaling approximately 6.25 hectares to the public," director of mangrove rehabilitation at the ministry, Ristianto Pribadi, said.
He made the statement during a media briefing on strategy, targets, achievements, and challenges in Indonesian mangrove rehabilitation, held in Jakarta on Thursday.
