Jakarta, Dec. 10 -- The Ministry of Communication and Digital targets the provision of internet access to 2,500 non-connected villages by 2026.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid conveyed that equitable connectivity allows villagers to have equal access to education, public services, and economic opportunities.

"We acknowledge inequalities in access in various regions; therefore, development in those areas will be a priority in 2026," she stated at the Declaration of the Direction of Digital Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Hafid said the government is prioritizing equitable connectivity after carrying out massive infrastructure development during 2023-2024.
