Bandung, West Java, July 24 -- The Indonesian Health Ministry reactivated the Anesthesia Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) at Padjadjaran University's Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung.

"The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) have agreed to reopen the Anesthesia residency program at RSHS. The ministry has never suspended the study program, only temporarily halted residency activities," the ministry's Director General of Advanced Health, Azhar Jaya, remarked on Thursday.

The program was temporarily suspended following a rape case involving a resident doctor, Priguna Anugerah Pratama, against a patient and the patient's family at RSHS in March 2025.
