Jakarta, Nov. 16 -- Indonesia's Transportation Ministry has ramped up preparations to handle a potential surge of flights during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period.
"We have prepared a special operation plan to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of air travelers during the Christmas and New Year's holiday period," Director General of Air Transport at the ministry, Lukman F. Laisa, stated here on Sunday.
A dedicated air transport observation center, covering 257 airports nationwide, will operate during the year-end travel period from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026, at the ministry office in Jakarta, he said.
