Jakarta, Feb. 8 -- The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is working to strengthen the role of local entrepreneurs in driving the domestic economy by accelerating the licensing process.

"We aim to provide full support for the empowerment of local entrepreneurs by streamlining the licensing process, while still considering the associated risks," Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Todotua Pasaribu, said in a statement on Saturday.

He explained that easing the licensing process is expected to encourage local entrepreneurs to take a leading role in their own country, becoming both the drivers and beneficiaries of regional economic development.
