Jakarta, June 26 -- The Forestry Ministry expressed its condolences following the death of a Brazilian climber, identified by the initials JDSP, who fell into a ravine while ascending Mount Rinjani in West Nusa Tenggara.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Forestry, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of JDSP, a climber from Brazil," the ministry's Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation, Satyawan Pudyatmoko, stated here on Thursday.

His side also extended appreciation to all members of the joint search and rescue (SAR) team who worked tirelessly in the field to evacuate JDSP.
