Jakarta, Feb. 3 -- Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, said that his side got in touch with Google regarding the erroneous exchange rate information for the rupiah (IDR) on Google search.

According to him, Google has taken steps to correct the error.

"Yes, we have communicated with them, and I think they have fixed it," Patria said at the ANTARA Heritage Center here on Monday.

Earlier, Google attributed the mistake in the exchange rate information, which showed the rupiah to US dollar rate at Rp8,170.65 per US$1, to third-party conversion data.

Upon receiving the report, Google contacted the data provider to correct the error.
