Jakarta, June 22 -- The Ministry of Manpower is strengthening strategic steps in transformation and addressing the dynamics of the labor sector by carrying out several priority programs to realize an adaptable, inclusive, and competitive employment ecosystem.
Head of the ministry's Public Relations Bureau, Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga, mentioned several significant challenges facing Indonesia's labor sector, such as the dominance of informal workers and high youth unemployment rates.
"Out of Indonesia's total workforce of 153 million, more than half are in the informal sector. Additionally, most have only completed high school education and lack skills that meet current industry needs," Sinaga explained in a statement here on Sunday.
