Tangerang, Banten, June 21 -- The Ministry of Culture has urged Indonesian business players and regional governments to collaborate in establishing museums to provide education to youth and support their character building.

"Regional governments are also encouraged to establish (museums), at least one museum per regional government," director general of protection of culture and tradition at the Ministry of Culture, Restu Gunawan, said in Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday.

According to Gunawan, museums can also serve as educational tourist destinations, especially for students during the school holiday period.

He further said that museums can convey information to the youth about the richness of Indonesian culture.
