Jakarta, Nov. 25 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the National Police (Polri) signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen teacher protection, including restorative justice measures, officials said.
The announcement came from Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti during National Teachers' Day celebrations in Surabaya, East Java, on Tuesday, streamed online by the ministry.
"The MoU covers restorative justice for teachers facing conflicts with students, parents, or NGOs related to their duties. Teachers are agents of learning and civilization," Mu'ti said.
