Jakarta, July 28 -- The Ministry of Manpower and the National Alms Agency ( Baznas ) have emphasized the importance of inclusive worker recruitment, particularly to ensure people with disabilities have access to employment.

"Workforce recruitment must be inclusive, without discrimination," Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, said in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday.

The measures taken to push inclusive hiring practices have included the signing of a joint commitment by Baznas, the South Sulawesi provincial government, and 22 companies in Sulawesi.

According to Yassierli, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed as a part of the enforcement of Article 53 of Law Number 8 of 2016 regarding Persons with Disabilities.
