Jakarta, March 17 -- Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Minister Nusron Wahid emphasized the importance of rehabilitating and improving the condition of all areas directly connected to rivers in West Java Province to reduce the risk of flooding.

"It is vital that we bring order to riverbanks and riparian zones, including addressing such areas with existing buildings and tenure rights," he remarked during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

Wahid emphasized that the government recognizes the need for prudence in restoring the functionality of these areas, highlighting the importance of assessing and preparing compensations for each affected building.
