Pekanbaru, Riau, July 16 -- Minister of Migrant Workers Protection Abdul Kadir Karding has encouraged young people not to hesitate in seizing employment opportunities overseas, considering the potential for higher income and broader life experiences.

"Working abroad is like studying while getting paid. You gain knowledge, broaden your experience and network, and of course, earn a significantly higher salary than at home," Karding remarked during a public lecture at Riau Islamic University (UIR) here on Wednesday.

The minister cited as an example that nurses in Japan can earn up to Rp25 million, or around US$1,500 per month, while in Germany, monthly wages can reach between Rp30 million and Rp50 million (around US$1,800 to US$3,000).
