Jakarta, July 15 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq plans to summon all company directors and heads of relevant agencies to find solutions to reduce air pollution in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

"We will try to summon all directors, director generals, and deputies responsible for air quality in Jakarta," he stated during emissions testing for trucks transporting goods in North Jakarta on Tuesday.

The summons is part of his duty as the environment minister to oversee and ensure a healthy environment for the public.

Nurofiq noted that the move falls within the minister's authority, as stipulated under Law Number 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management.
