Southwest Sumba, July 20 -- Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara highlighted plans to deploy around 40 researchers to three transmigration districts on Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, to help boost economic growth by mapping investment potential.
He identified these districts as East Sumba, Southwest Sumba, and West Sumba, noting that their poverty rates remain high, ranging from 26 to 28 percent.
Speaking in Southwest Sumba on Saturday (July 19), the minister emphasized that taking strategic measures to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth through investment is key to addressing poverty in these regions.
