Jakarta, Oct. 29 -- Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has announced plans to audit land use, certificates, and buildings along riverbanks and lakes to help mitigate flood risks.

"We will resume audits of land use, certification, and buildings along rivers and lakes identified as potential flood-prone areas," Wahid said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The ministry plans to complete the audit before January-February 2026, ahead of the peak flood season in the Greater Jakarta Area.

Wahid emphasized that early preparation is essential for effective flood mitigation, noting that preventive measures must begin well before the rainy season.
