Jakarta, Sept. 26 -- Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir has set a target for the full operation of the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center (CYESC) in East Jakarta by 2026.

"We are working to ensure that this national training center in Cibubur becomes fully operational by next year," Erick said in Jakarta on Friday.

The CYESC facility was conceptualized during the tenure of former Sports Minister Zainudin Amali, with construction initiated under his successor, Dito Ariotedjo. Its design was inspired by Japan's Ajinomoto National Training Center.

Built with a budget of Rp274 billion (approximately US$17.5 million), the center is intended to serve as a national training hub for junior athletes.
