Jakarta, March 19 -- Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno underscored the critical need to optimize the management of waste due to its significant repercussions for public health and disaster risks.

"The waste issue has implications for health and disasters. It may trigger floods and others," he remarked after visiting the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday.

Consequently, his side recognizes the significance of upstream prevention efforts led by the Coordinating Ministry for Food, including in land and waste management.
