Jakarta, June 30 -- Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers (P2MI), Abdul Kadir Karding, has underlined the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration for safeguarding the rights and welfare of Indonesian migrant workers (PMIs).

"We must align our hearts and steps. Migrant worker protection programs cannot be implemented by a single unit or declared unilaterally. This must be carried out by a united, solid team," he said at the closing of the ministry's National Coordination Meeting ( Rakornas ) on Program Oversight on Sunday.

He also stressed the need to move the ministry's initiatives beyond plans on paper and translate them into tangible, collective action.
