Jakarta, Oct. 19 -- Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara has called for the revision of Law Number 29 of 2009 on Transmigration to make it more relevant to inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered economic development.

Suryanagara said he had discussed the plan with Law and Human Rights Minister Supratman Andi Agtas and received full support to include the revision in the national legislation program by the end of this year.

Speaking at the Transmigration Ministry headquarters here on Saturday, he stated that the revision is needed to clarify the direction and implementation of economic development in transmigration areas.
