Jakarta, Oct. 23 -- Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid emphasized that algorithms and codes in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) must reflect the positive values of Indonesian society to ensure that the technology brings beneficial outcomes.

"When we fail to use AI positively, the systems we build can become frightening, harmful, and even dangerous," Meutya said in her remarks at the Kumparan AI for Indonesia event here on Thursday.

She noted that Indonesia is among the countries that view AI development with optimism and is not afraid to use it in daily activities.
