Jakarta, Feb. 22 -- Transmigration Minister Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara expressed optimism about Japanese investors participating in the development of transmigration areas in various Indonesian regions to transform them into new centers of economic growth.

"I am hoping for the entry of investments from Japan, both in terms of economy and education, especially in the Patriot Transmigration program," he noted in a statement on Friday.

While attending an event marking the 65th birthday of Japanese Emperor Naruhito in Jakarta on Thursday, he highlighted Japan's consistent, long-standing role as one of Indonesia's key investment and business partners.
