Jakarta, July 21 -- The Ministry of Religious Affairs is providing scholarships to lecturers at religious universities who wish to pursue education overseas as part of efforts to improve the capacity and quality of lecturers.

The scholarship program, named the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB), is being implemented by the Center for Religious Education Funding (Puspenma) under the ministry's Secretariat General.

"We are providing scholarships to lecturers to study at the best universities in the world, such as those in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, and Middle East countries," Puspenma head Ruchman Basori said in a statement issued here on Monday.
