Jakarta, Aug. 31 -- Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid has responded to TikTok's voluntary suspension of its Live feature in Indonesia, expressing hope that the decision will be short-lived.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Sunday, Meutya said the government respects TikTok's decision.
"We have received TikTok's notification regarding the voluntary closure of its Live feature, and we hope this will not last long," she stated.
Meutya added that President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized the government's commitment to remaining open and responsive to public aspirations, including feedback related to TikTok Live.
