Jakarta, Nov. 27 -- Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expressed readiness to deploy officers to manage customs and excise operations at the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) Airport in Morowali, Central Sulawesi.
Speaking at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, he acknowledged policy missteps in the airport's management and said they had triggered public controversy.
He also questioned the absence of immigration and customs officers at the airport, saying government intervention was necessary to resolve the issue.
However, Sadewa said he had not received any formal instructions to take part in handling the case.
"If we were asked to intervene, it would be resolved quickly. But right now, there are no orders,"...
