Jakarta, Sept. 3 -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman ensured that national rice production remains sufficient to accommodate public needs, thereby maintaining food security and stable rice prices throughout Indonesia.
"Our national rice production is secure. Our rice production is projected at 31.04 million tons by October," he informed during a working meeting with Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Based on data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the projected national rice production by October 2025 will reach 31.04 million tons, while consumption demand for the same period will reach 27.3 million tons. Thus, Indonesia recorded a surplus of around 3.7 million tons.
