Jakarta, Nov. 30 -- Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman has encouraged universities to cultivate students' enthusiasm for entrepreneurship as part of efforts to raise Indonesia's entrepreneurship rate.

"The Ministry of MSMEs continues to push for an increase in the entrepreneurship rate. The progress of a developing or developed country is often measured by the number of entrepreneurs," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

He noted that Indonesia's current entrepreneurship rate remains below 3.5 percent, significantly lower than that of developed countries, which generally exceed 8 percent.
