Jakarta, May 31 -- The Ministry of Environment has urged local governments and communities to refrain from using plastic during the Eid al-Adha 2025 celebrations, as outlined in a newly issued circular.

In Circular Letter Number 04 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Eid al-Adha 2025 Without Plastic Waste, received on Saturday, Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq highlighted that distributing sacrificial meat often increases plastic waste due to the usage of single-use plastic bags.

"The Eid al-Adha celebration, which falls in June and coincides with World Environment Day themed 'Ending Plastic Pollution,' only feels appropriate for us to maintain the condition with minimum waste," he affirmed.
