Jakarta, March 11 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq urged for the establishment of air quality monitoring stations in industrial areas as part of the efforts to reduce sources of air pollution in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

Nurofiq, here on Tuesday, urged the Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control of the Ministry of Environment to mandate the establishment of air quality monitoring stations, as they will act as indicators of air quality.

"When the indicators are poor, I will proceed to the industries that we suspect are disrupting ambient air quality," he remarked.
