Jakarta, March 31 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq expressed hope that Eid al-Fitr would inspire renewed spirit for better stewardship of the earth and enhanced protection of the environment.

"Let us make this spirit of Eid al-Fitr a motivation to be wiser in caring for the earth, reducing waste, and maintaining the balance of the ecosystem," Hanif noted in his statement on Monday.

The minister is optimistic that during the Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri celebration, everyone will experience joy and peace and that all their good deeds will be recognized.
