Jakarta, Dec. 1 -- Head of the Information Center of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Headquarters, Major General Freddy Ardianzah, stated that the Indonesian Air Force has begun deploying aircraft to deliver logistics via airdrop in the Sibolga area, North Sumatra.
"The airdrop operation uses the Air Force's Hercules transport aircraft. Meanwhile, the helibox drop system uses CN 295 and Casa 212 aircraft," he explained on Monday.
This method is taken since land access to Sibolga remains cut off due to recent landslides, Ardianzah added.
The logistics sent by the TNI include ready-to-eat food, medicine, emergency tents, and clothing.
While delivering the logistics, TNI personnel will continue evacuating victims in the Sibolga flood...
