Jakarta, Aug. 30 -- President Prabowo Subianto pledged justice over the death of ride-hailing motorcycle driver Affan Kurniawan, who was run over by a Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) tactical vehicle during a protest in Jakarta on Thursday (August 28).

Prabowo conveyed his condolences directly to Affan's parents during a visit to their home in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Friday.

"My condolences. Be well," Prabowo said to Affan's father.

"We trust you, sir," the father replied.

The head of state also expressed his condolences to Affan's mother and expressed his regret over the incident.
