Jakarta, Oct. 1 -- Food poisoning in the Free Nutritional Meal (MBG) Program is generally caused by Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) not following standard operating procedures, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) revealed.
"We can identify that these incidents are mostly because they don't strictly follow the SOPs," said the Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He cited examples of SPPG's non-compliance with BGN's SOP, including those related to the timing of food ingredient purchases for MBG.
Hindayana stated that BGN stipulates that food purchases must be made less than two days before the meal is cooked. However, some SPPGs still purchase ingredients four days in advance.
