Badung, Bali, Feb. 17 -- Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali has said that the 6th International Maritime Security Symposium (IMSS) in Bali is a collaborative effort to address various forms of illegal maritime activities such as smuggling.
"The maritime threat that we see today is illegal activities at sea such as smuggling, be it the smuggling of drugs, humans, electronic goods, alcoholic beverages, and illegal migrants," he told the media here on Monday.
He informed that the international forum will also discuss commitments and joint steps to tackle illegal fishing and activities that can pose a threat to the maritime environment, such as pollution due to waste disposal in the sea.
